Privacy Policy
JB Linguistics LLC (“JB Linguistics,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy describes what information we collect when you visit jblinguisticsllc.com or engage our language services, how we use it, who we share it with, your rights, and how to contact us.
1. Information we collect
We collect only what we need to respond to inquiries, deliver our services, and operate this website.
1.1 Information you provide directly
- Contact & quote forms: name, work email, organization name, organization type, service interest, languages, project details.
- RFP forms: all of the above plus volume, deadline, and any institutional context you choose to share.
- Teacher applications: linguist name, credentials, languages, contact information, biography, and a profile photo if you upload one.
- Email and phone communications you initiate with us at jblinguisticsllc@gmail.com or +1 (602) 628-4600.
1.2 Information collected automatically
- Analytics: we use Google Analytics 4 (property G-HHH7VXKRF2) to understand aggregate site usage — pages viewed, approximate location (country/region), device type, referrer, and time on page.
- Advertising: we use Google Ads conversion tracking (account AW-18242269830) to measure which campaigns lead to form submissions. This may set cookies in your browser.
- Hosting logs: our hosting provider (Netlify) records standard server logs including IP address, request URL, and timestamp for security and performance.
2. How we use your information
- To respond to quote and proposal requests.
- To deliver, schedule, and bill for language services you engage us to perform.
- To evaluate teacher and translator applications.
- To send service-related communications (project updates, scheduling, invoices).
- To measure marketing effectiveness and improve the website.
- To comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal information.
3. Confidentiality for translation & interpretation work
Documents and conversations you share with us for translation, interpretation, or language-learning engagements are treated as confidential. Every linguist we assign signs a per-engagement confidentiality agreement before receiving materials. For work involving protected health information, we use HIPAA-aligned handling and per-assignment HIPAA agreements. For school-district work, our workflows are aligned with FERPA requirements regarding student records.
4. Who we share information with
We share information only as needed to deliver the service or operate the website:
- Assigned linguists for the specific engagement, under written confidentiality.
- Service providers that host the site, store form submissions, or process payments (Netlify, Google, our payment processor). Each is contractually obligated to protect the data.
- Legal authorities when required by law, valid subpoena, or to protect rights and safety.
We never sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for their own marketing.
5. Cookies and tracking technologies
This site uses cookies for analytics and advertising attribution. You can disable cookies in your browser settings or opt out of Google Analytics via the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. Disabling cookies will not prevent you from using the site or submitting forms.
6. Data retention
We retain form submissions and project records for as long as needed to deliver the service, satisfy tax and accounting obligations (typically seven years), and respond to potential disputes. Analytics data is retained for up to 26 months. Teacher profile submissions are retained while the application is under review or the linguist remains active in our network; you may request deletion at any time.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights under laws such as the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA), and similar state laws. These may include the right to:
- Know what personal information we hold about you.
- Request a copy of that information.
- Request correction or deletion.
- Opt out of certain marketing communications.
- Lodge a complaint with a data protection authority.
To exercise any of these rights, email jblinguisticsllc@gmail.com with the subject line “Privacy Request.”
8. Children’s privacy
This website is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Language-program enrollments for minors are arranged through a parent, guardian, or institutional partner who provides the necessary information on the child’s behalf.
9. International transfers
JB Linguistics LLC is based in the United States. If you contact us from outside the U.S., your information will be transferred to and processed in the U.S. By using our site or services, you consent to this transfer.
10. Security
We use commercially reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the information we hold. No method of internet transmission is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security but we work to minimize risk.
